Muscarelle Museum of Art in Williamsburg, Virginia The floral pattern appearing three times on the dark brown robe is this artist's mon or crest. It shows up in slight variations on other prints of this actor even when performing in female roles. It also appears on the robes when acting under the name Ichikawa Yaozō IV. (JSV)
