Chazen Museum of Art
Virginia Museum of Fine Art The colors of this triptych are superb and worth a close examination. There is blind-printing on each of the three panels: in the white of the undergarment robes on the right and left panel and in the scroll being handled by Mitsuuji. Each is patterned differently.
The beauty on the right, holding Mitsuuji's sword, is wearing a kimono decorated with irises, a symbol of spring as are the cherry blossoms.
