Biography:

Kunihisa II was Kunisada's pupil, collaborator and son-in-law. He was born in Yokohama. He created many of the landscapes that accompany Kunisada's figures. His work can be found in the Ashmolean, the Idemitsu Museum, the Newark Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Victoria and Albert Museum, Oberlin College, the Art Institute of Chicago, the Tokyo Metropolitan Library, Waseda University Library among others.

He was adopted by Kunisada after he married his fourth daughter. He died on February 5, 1891. Some accounts say he was born in Edo. Known to have produced sumō, beautiful women, musha-e, fan and Yokohama prints.
