Biography:

Nothing is known about the artist Tsunemaru (常丸) and prints by him are very rare. He was active in Osaka during the mid-Tenpō period (1830-42).

Roger Keyes made a brief reference to Tsunemaru in 1973 in The Theatrical World of Osaka Prints on page 304 where he said that 'Kasai' was a gō of Tsunemaru. On page 278 he repeats this and says that this artist was probably/possibly active in ca. 1849, but he even added a question mark to that date..
