This actor held this name from 11/1801 to 11/1817 when he changes his name to Arashi Koroku IV. Prior to using the Minshi name he acted under the name of Arashi San'emon from 11/1797.
His grandfather was Arashi Koroku I (1710-86); his father Arashi Koroku III (1741-96); his brothers Arashi Hinasuke II (1774-1801), Arashi Hinasuke III (1791-1813) and Arashi Koroku V (? - 1858).
