Biography:

"Dates of birth and death unknown. Relationship to the Kagaya guild unknown. The actor Nakamura Komanosuke V was active in Kamigata at the end of the Edo period. He temporarily took the name of Arashi Rikaku in the 3rd lunar month of 1865 and held it up to the 8th lunar month of 1865, as he took back the name of Nakamura Komanosuke V in the 9th lunar month of 1865. He played some important roles like Princess Toki in "Kamakura Sandaiki" in the 11th lunar month of 1859 at the Chikugo no Shibai or Issun Tokubei in "Natsu Matsuri" in the 5th lunar month of 1866 at the Naka no Shibai (sharing the stage with Jitsukawa Enjaku I and Jitsukawa Gakujûrō II in the roles of Ishikawa Goemon and Tsuribune Sabu). He was quite popular and his ranking in the 1st lunar month of 1865 in the Kamigata hyōbanki, tachiyaku section, was one black stroke above jō-jō-(hanshiro)kichi [visual]."
