This actor held this name from 11/1795 until his death on the 24th day of the 3rd month of 1830.
Ōtani Tomoemon II was a talented tachiyaku, katakiyaku and jitsuaku, who received his name in Edo but spent most of his career in the Kamigata theaters. It is said that he excelled in the tachimawari scenes.
Ōtani Tomoemon II's best roles: Gonshirō ("Hirakana Seisuiki") and Satō Gōsuke ("Hakone Reigen Izari no Adauchi").
