Hotei fording a river with a young woman on his back

Identifier: 1769 Harunobu Hotei

Hotei was one of Harunobu's favorite subjects, especially of humorous prints. "Possibly a parody of the michiyuki scene in the play Ohan and Chōemon." [This information is from a similar Harunobu print at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.]
